I have two large dictionaries. Neither defines Event Horizon. They both go to great lengths to describe visible, apparent, sensible and celestial horizons. They also waffle on, at some length about layers of rock and about soil profiles. Applied uniformity and horizontal integration of commercial activity gets a rave, but no word of Event Horizon.
So, taking the Latin eventus to mean anything that happens especially something important and the Greek horizon kuklos to mean limiting circle, I have decided to interpret Event Horizon in my own way. Henceforth, and for my purposes, it will be taken to mean any event in the past, present or future that is worthy, or unworthy of mention by me, and by the circle of contributors to Folk Odyssey. In short, it is a sort of history page, even if some of the history hasn't yet happened.
